There's nothing quite like a piping-hot bowl of soup to keep you cozy during the cold weather. The winter season has officially kicked off, with some parts of the US preparing for snowfall while others are dealing with heavy rainfall and powerful winds. No matter where you live, the weather this week has been far from perfect, leading many of us to yearn for the warmth that only a hot winter meal can offer.
If you're on the hunt for a dish that will warm you up from the inside, we have just the recipe for you - a delightful and soothing chicken noodle soup. This robust and gratifying soup can be whipped up in less than an hour and even includes a spicy kick to really increase the heat. Shared on TikTok by chef Dwight Smith, the recipe technically uses pasta instead of noodles, but you could swap out the alternative carbohydrate for the traditional one if you wish.
The recipe also suggests adding one scotch bonnet chili for extra heat, but this can be left out if you're not a fan of spicy food. Ingredients Method Dwight began by seasoning his chicken on both sides before browning it in a pan with some oil. He then moved them to a large pot along with the chicken stock over medium heat.
Once the liquid begins to boil, he turns off the heat and lets the pot cool down. Dwight is showcased skillfully melting butter on medium heat, then attentively sauteing a blend of vegetables. Upon achieving softness, garlic is added; soon after comes aromatic thyme, bay leaves, and a zesty scot.
