From bustling hawker centres to sprawling airports and office complexes, the demand for cleaning and maintenance is a critical challenge that grows in complexity with the size of the space. For over three decades, Singapore company Primech A&P , a subsidiary of Nasdaq-listed Primech Holdings, has set itself apart in the facility services industry through technology-driven cleaning solutions. With a workforce of 3,000 employees serving more than 300 organisations, Primech A&P has established itself as a provider that combines expertise and experience with state-of-the-art technology.

Primech A&P offers a wide range of services across various sectors and facilities, including commercial and office buildings, condominiums, schools, institutes of higher learning, hawker centres, hotels, town councils and Changi Airport. Investing in technology and embracing its potential to revolutionise the integrated facility services sector is crucial to Primech A&P’s long-standing commitment to delivering greater value and satisfaction to its clients, said Mr Vernon Kwek, co-founder and CEO of Primech A&P. “Primech A&P is the partner of choice for forward-thinking commercial building owners because we combine cutting-edge technology with exceptional service to deliver groundbreaking, high-performing solutions that enhance sustainability and building performance,” he added.

EXPERIENCE, EXPERTISE AND SMART SOLUTIONS Like many other industries, the facility services sector faces an ongoing shortage of cleaners . In this challenging landscape, Primech A&P sees an opportunity to leverage advanced technologies to elevate cleaning standards, incorporate higher levels of sustainability and safety, and provide enhanced transparency via app-based, real-time monitoring systems. Primech A&P shows its dedication to innovation by using Neo autonomous cleaning robots in its operations.

Powered by industrial-strength batteries, these robots can operate for up to six hours on a single charge. With this advanced technology, Primech A&P delivers efficient, safe and sustainable cleaning solutions, while reducing noise and avoiding the hazards of cords on the floor. At Changi Airport, Primech A&P employees work round the clock to uphold cleanliness at Terminal 2’s arrival hall, public areas and transit zones.

They use advanced machinery such as robotic scrubbers and heavy-duty equipment like boom and scissor lifts for routine and scheduled sanitation tasks, ensuring all sections are meticulously maintained. Employees are also deployed to the airside area (where loading, unloading and aircraft movements occur) from Terminal 1 through Terminal 4, equipped with tools like road sweepers and scrubbers to keep facilities such as sanitary disposal centres, fire stations and ancillary buildings clean. Outdoors, the team conducts mechanical sweeping, refuse collection and bay scrubbing across plane parking stands and remote bays.

In case of hydraulic oil spills in these operational zones, the team is fully equipped to promptly address the issue, ensuring safety and efficiency. Hotels require a more delicate touch. The cleaning scope includes rooms, kitchens, public spaces and conference rooms, along with specialised services such as carpet and furniture care, floor waxing and polishing, and lobby ceiling light and chandelier cleaning.

Primech A&P leverages its extensive experience to thoroughly train employees in providing the appropriate care for luxury fixtures and furnishings, in addition to offering stewarding services. SUPPORTING PARTNERS’ SUSTAINABILITY GOALS The Singapore Green Plan 2030 calls on individuals, businesses and government agencies to set ambitious climate targets with the goal of achieving net-zero emissions in Singapore by 2050. In light of these goals, more enterprises – especially multinational corporations – are raising their expectations for sustainability in facility services and cleaning, observed Mr Kwek.

“They seek partners that can help them achieve their corporate net-zero agendas.” In response to this growing demand for sustainable solutions, Primech A&P has focused its innovation and technology efforts on creating eco-friendly cleaning solutions that are both safe and effective. Additionally, it has invested in the Tersano Lotus PRO Stabilized Aqueous Ozone (SAO) Generator, which converts ordinary tap water into a powerful disinfecting solution.

SAO effectively removes dirt, grease and germs while remaining free from harsh chemicals and toxins, making it an ideal choice for spaces like classrooms where children may have skin sensitivities or allergies. Furthermore, SAO does not require rinsing, reducing water usage in facilities. For its contributions, Primech A&P has been recognised at the Apex Corporate Sustainability Awards as one of the top five finalists in the LowCarbonSG category for this year.

“By implementing eco-friendly practices and technologies, we can significantly reduce our carbon footprint, enhance resource efficiency and provide sustainable solutions that align with our clients’ environmental goals,” said Mr Kwek. “This not only helps our clients meet regulatory requirements but also enables them to demonstrate a commitment to corporate social responsibility, which is crucial for maintaining a competitive edge in today’s market.” For inquiries about cleaning and integrated facility services, contact enquiry [at] primech.
