Charli XCX has opened up about 'diss tracks' on her new album, Brat. The pop sensation, 32, released the hit studio album on June 7 of this year featuring tracks inspired by the early-2000s rave scene. Brat was instantly hailed as the album of the summer with songs like Apple, Von Dutch and 360 becoming popular on TikTok and Instagram .

However, the star was met with criticism when people claimed there were 'diss tracks' on the album. Taking to TikTok, Charli cleared up the rumours and said one song in particular 'kind of is'. “I’m seeing online that some people think that there are diss tracks on Brat and I just wanted to come on here and clarify that there aren’t, apart from maybe Von Dutch which kind of is," she said.

While Charli stopped short of revealing who the album's lead single is about, she continued: “But the the other tracks in question aren’t diss tracks. "They’re really just about how it’s so complicated being an artist, especially a female artist, where you are pitted against your peers but also expected to be best friends with every single person constantly and if you’re not you’re deemed a bad feminist. And that to me is just such an unrealistic expectation.

"So yeah, these songs are kind of about how as a woman, as an artist, some days you can feel on top of the world , some days you can feel unbelievably insecure, other days you can feel highly competitive, sometimes you can feel like literal trash. "And it’s really emotional and it’s complicated to deal with and we’re not supposed to talk about it but these songs do talk about it and I’ll probably be chastised for it but whatever, it’s reality." Fans were quick to comment on the clip, with one writing: "Wait who is Von Dutch about.

" Another added: "i just want to know if we are ever going to get a Lorde colab that would be peak pop culture." Meanwhile a third chimed in: "I was just thinking about Von Dutch being about someone today, Charli???? Are we telepathically connected?" The Mirror previously reported Charli had an alleged feud with fellow pop star Taylor Swift , who has taken the world by storm with her Eras tour this summer. The pair are thought to not be pals anymore with Charli engaged to 1975 band member, George Daniel.

Meanwhile Taylor broke up with the band's frontman, Matty Healy, before falling in love with current boyfriend Travis Kelce. But fans don't appear to think Von Dutch is about the All Too Well singer, having previously speculated another song from Brat – Sympathy is a Knife – was aimed at the star..
