In a rather candid compliment, singer Charli XCX has cheekily designated US Vice President Kamala Harris as a "brat". The 31-year-old artist displayed her support for the 59 year old's presidential campaign shortly following US President Joe Biden , 81, confirming he was withdrawing from the race to the White House due to contracting Covid. Following Biden's announcement that he was "giving full endorsement and support to Kamala's nomination for our party", Charli posted on X: "Kamala IS brat.

" The comment is a playful nod to her latest album, which launched on 7 June. Soon after the post, Kamala's official campaign capitalised on the endorsement by adapting its banner on X to mirror the style of Charli's "brat" album cover. In response, the banner was modified to display "kamala hq" in lowercase black font against a vibrant lime green backdrop.

Providing an explanation into her unique use of the term "brat", Charli, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, shared a video on TikTok where she said: "You're just like that girl who is a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things sometimes." She continued, declaring a "brat" as someone "Who feels herself but maybe also has a breakdown. But kind of like parties through it, is very honest, very blunt.

A little bit volatile." Furthermore, likening the term to embracing ones flaws, she added: "Like does dumb things. But it's brat.

You're brat. That's brat." Several of Kamala's most memorable quotes and video clips have now been edited together and set to the backdrop of Charli's music.

Many of these clips feature the same lime green tint that is seen on Charli's 'brat' album cover, or even have the cover inserted between clips of Harris. A famed quote from the footage involves Kamala informing the US president: "We did it, Joe", marking her victory as the first female vice president in American history after his election in 2020. On Monday, 24 hours after Joe announced his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race, Kamala kicked off her campaign for the Democratic Presidential nomination.

With more and more Democrats throwing their support behind her for the November 5 election, Kamala expressed optimism about Joe's recovery from Covid-19 in her inaugural public address since his resignation, describing him as feeling "much better".
