Have you ever wanted to play World of Tanks inside a full-scale tank? Well, two talented players have done just that, creating a full tank simulator just to play the free multiplayer video game. World of Tanks in a tank Shared in a video on Twitter , two dedicated World of Tanks players created a full simulator for the multiplayer game. Instead of playing on keyboard and mouse, or with a controller, the two crafted a tank interior to control the game.

In the video, Chinese player Blyat and a friend team up inside the tank to blast through enemy forces. After climbing into the replica vehicle, one player takes up the movement controls while another aims the barrel via a working periscope. To fire missiles, one user shoves full soda bottles into a working mechanism.

After firing in game, the mechanism shoots out the bottle as if it was an actual missile shell. There’s even a missile shelf filled with bottles to keep the fight going. Using smoke machines and pyrotechnics, the fake tank shakes and rocks as if the team is actually in the midst of a warzone.

It’s not only chaotic, but an awesome technical feat. While many gamers build simulator cockpits for games like Microsoft Flight Sim or Asseto Corsa, there’s very few tank simulators out there. Some gamers even make entire train simulator setups for games like Train Sim World, but this World of Tanks setup is pretty unique.

An ideal way to play? While obviously a tonne of fun, this real-sized tank simulator is likely not the ideal way to play World of Tanks. Turning with the simulator requires rapidly turning a crank, and slamming a soda bottle into a firing mechanism is a lot slower than pressing a button on your keyboard. Additionally, the setup also requires multiple people.

However, no World of Tanks player will ever be as cool as this. It’s like Steel Battalion on steroids, and it’s one of the coolest video game setups we’ve ever seen. World of Tanks is available to play for free on PC, console and mobile.
