Tuesday, August 20, 2024 Due to the ongoing redevelopment project at Chandigarh railway station, platforms 2 and 3 will be inaccessible for 12 days, starting from August 21 until September 1, according to railway officials. The construction of the air concourse over the railway tracks necessitates the diversion or short termination of several trains. During this period, six trains will experience short terminations, including the Chandigarh-Firozpur Sutlej Express (14630/14629), which will be partially canceled between Chandigarh and Mohali.

Similarly, the Chandigarh-Amritsar SF Express (12241/12242) will be partially canceled between Chandigarh and Kharar, while the Chandigarh-Ramnagar SF Express (12527/12528) will face partial cancellation between Chandigarh and Ambala. Trains that usually arrive at platforms 2 and 3 will temporarily use platforms 1, 4, and 5 until the air concourse construction is completed. Passengers are advised to arrive early to avoid any last-minute inconveniences.

The Railway Land Development Authority (RLDA) had previously missed the project deadlines, including the most recent one on May 31. However, they now aim to finish the redevelopment work within the next three months..
