Celtics forward Sam Hauser has agreed on a four-year, $45 million contract extension, according to league source, further solidifying the defending NBA champions’ core for years to come. The source said there are no player or team options for the final year of the deal, which will start during the 2025-26 season. Hauser, 26, strengthened his status as one of the game’s elite long-range shooters this season.

He averaged 9 points and 3 rebounds per game while connecting on 42.4 percent of his 3-pointers. He was 9 for 16 from beyond the arc in the final three games of the NBA Finals against the Mavericks.



Earlier this month, the Celtics picked up Hauser’s $2.1 million option for next season, putting him in position to become an unrestricted free agent at season’s end if the two sides were unable to agree to an extension. But that is no longer an issue.

In addition to returning their top nine rotation players from their title squad, the Celtics now have all five of last season’s starters, as well as Hauser, Payton Pritchard, and Xavier Tillman under contract through at least 2025-26. Advertisement Hauser’s deal is certainly fair market value for a shooter of his caliber.
