The Celtics — fresh off their 2024 NBA championship — are ready to run it back for the foreseeable future. The C’s and Sam Hauser have agreed to a four-year, $45 million contract extension, a league source confirmed to MassLive. The move was first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski .

The team exercised its option for Hauser next season for 2024-25, but now, he’s ready to be in Boston for even longer. The Hauser extension comes as no surprise as the Celtics have been aggressive this summer by locking down their core from the 2024 title team. Jayson Tatum and Derrick White also signed their respective contract extensions this summer in a sign the C’s are ready to stay competitive.

Hauser is coming off a career-best season where he was a key rotation player for the champions. Hauser played in 79 games (13 starts), averaging 9.0 points and 3.

5 rebounds in 22.0 minutes per game. Notably, the sharpshooter also knocked down 42.

4% of his 3-pointers on 5.9 attempts per game. The Celtics will have a hefty luxury tax bill coming up considering how much money they have committed to their roster.

But for now, the front office has been all about signing their guys this summer. That’s no surprise as the C’s were the clear best team in the league last season as they earned Banner No. 18.
