Celebrity Race Across The World is back on BBC One tonight, August 14, with four teams vying for the top spot. They'll hit five checkpoints en route but won't discover their next destination until they're ready to depart. This year's contestants include Jeff and Freddy Brazier, Ted Lasso star Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen, broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband Jeremy, and Radio 2 host Scott Mills and his husband Sam.

The second season's route is even more extensive than the first season's 10,000km trek from Morocco to Norway. Weather presenter Alex Beresford and his father Noel were declared the winners of the inaugural season. For the second season, the race will kick off in Belem, Northern Brazil, known as the gateway to the Amazon.

There will be five checkpoints across South America before reaching the finish line in Frutillar, Southern Chile, in the Andes. Here's what you need to know about the potential checkpoints as the celebrity spin-off gets underway. The competitors could traverse nine countries during their journey, including Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru in the north of the continent.

The official checkpoints remain undisclosed as the teams will only learn their next destination when they're prepared to embark on the subsequent leg of the journey. TV personality Jeff Brazier along with his son Freddy are excited about their upcoming adventure, surrounded by nature's beauty.

Jeff shared his anticipation: "I want to be up a mountain, I want to be next to a lake, I want to be on a beach. I want all those things. I want to see a waterfall.

" Freddy added some of his own thoughts on the trip: "I actually said this to someone the other day, I don't want to be doing any really big climbs." He continued, expressing a condition for an exception: "But if it's to a waterfall that I can actually jump in, then I will do it. I don't want to climb up a massive mountain and then have to come down.

" Reflecting on the practicality of such activities considering their equipment, he concluded: "I'm doing loads of steps here with a big weighty bag on my back, the last thing I want to do with that bag is climb a mountain, knowing that I've got all this walking to do after that."
