The 75-year-old, who founded charity My Own Hair to help other cancer patients, was diagnosed with bowel cancer after he lost a worrying amount of blood. In June, Trevor and his partner Carol were told he only has months to live, and in September realised that no treatment could help him.

However, he’s still determined to see Christmas this year and never wakes up feeling sorry for himself, despite his health struggles. Appearing on This Morning today, Trevor recalled the symptom he had before his diagnosis, which prompted him to go to hospital. He said: ‘It started when I lost a lot of blood one night and I was unusually disturbed about that.

’ After being sent to a hospital in London, Trevor was informed that he had bowel cancer. ‘I had a little panic attack in the office, and came out of there, and look at Carol and she looked at me, and we were both speechless.’ ‘We were walking down the road, and I just didn’t know what to say, so I had a big din and tonic, and that helped!’ he laughed.

The cancer then spread to Trevor’s liver, and he had to have two six hour operations but a tumour is still there now because it’s too close to a major blood vessel. Carol added that the couple had been ‘in denial’ when they wer.
