An iconic BBC star and comedian looked totally different as they kept it low-key while stepping out with pals in London. Doctor Who star Catherine Tate , 54, kept it casual as she rocked a button-up blouse, baggy blue jeans, simple black sunglasses and a San Diego Padres baseball cap for her day out. She left her ginger locks flowing loosely down her shoulders as she walked her dog in the capital.

She soon met up with a friend for a few drinks at Gaucho before making her way to Wasabi to grab some food. She ended her outing with a refreshing drink at Joe and the Juice to combat the blistering heat - which saw the weather hit 34 degrees in many parts of the country. One picture showed her smiling as her pals stood close to her and laughed along during their conversation.

Her pooch followed loyally behind as she hung out with her friends. It comes after her scripted comedy show, Queen of Oz, was axed after only one series on BBC . The show saw her play the main role as Princess Georgina, a royal party girl, who spent her life plastered over the tabloids after going from one PR disaster to the next.

After yet another scandal emerged, the King decided to send the Princess to Australia , resigning as the monarch of the country in the hope the unprecedented move would give his daughter a sense of responsibility. Predictably, it didn't go to plan, with the first series seeing the new Queen bulldoze her way into the country, causing mayhem with fires from discarded cigarettes, incorrect portraits printed on currency and the untimely death of a kangaroo. Unfortunately, fans will not be able to see what happens next as the series was axed.

Catherine previously hit out at Netflix , after her prison comedy Hard Cell was axed, after premiering in April 2022. The sitcom followed the lives of inmates and staff at HMP Woldsley, with Catherine playing a number of characters during the six episodes of the show. Former EastEnders favourite Cheryl Fergison also starred alongside her.

When Netflix made the decision to cancel the show, the comedian branded the streaming service "rude" for not telling her directly. Although she said she "kind of" understood why they decided not to renew the series, she would have preferred to have heard it from someone on the phone. She told the BBC Two Breakfast Show: "They had a change of staff and, as happens when someone who has commissioned the show and then leaves, often they want to start afresh.

I kind of understand but it would’ve been nice for them to have told me." Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads ..
