CASTLECONNELL have five rowers competing in the upcoming international regattas. All five members of the Castleconnell boat club will compete in the various competitions in Canada, Czech Republic and Scotland. Luke Fitzgerald will be competing in the Junior World Championships in St Catherines, Canada.

This event takes place from August 18 until August 25. Sibeal Ni Flaithbheartaigh and Lorna McNamara take part in the Coupe De Jeunesse in Czech Republic which takes place from August 8 until August 11. Anna Hickey is part of the home international junior team, while Andrew O'Connor is part of the home international senior team.



Both participants will head to Scotland on Saturday, 27 July at Strathclyde Park for the competition hosted by Scottish rowing. Castleconnell is one of the top clubs in Irish rowing and it consistently produces athletes for the Irish National Team. The club was founded in 1983 and is still a relatively young club in Irish rowing.

Castleconnell Boat Club aims to help people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the sport of rowing. It is open to members from 11 years and up. The Limerick boat club is situated on the Shannon River and takes advantage of a beautiful stretch of water between O’Brien’s Bridge and World’s End.
