India is all geared up as the festive season will shortly arrive. Many automobile makers are also preparing to introduce several vehicles during this festive period aiming for higher sales. In October, five cars including the New Kia Carnival, Kia EV9 and others will be making their debut in the Indian market.
Let’s check them out. Kia will launch the EV9 electric SUV along with the Kia Carnival as its new flagship offering in India on October 3. The India-spec EV9 will come with a 99.
8kWh battery pack that will offer an ARAI-certified range of 561km. It will get dual motors (one at each axle), giving it all-wheel drive capability. The motors produce a combined 384hp and 700Nm.
The EV9 will be available with a 6-seater layout as standard – the second-row seats will be captain’s chairs with features like electric adjustment, massage function, and adjustable leg support. This, too, will come as a full import and is expected to be priced at around Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom). At this price point it will rival luxury electric SUVs such as the Mercedes EQE SUV, BMW iX and the Audi Q8 e-tron.
The Kia Carnival and Kia EV 9 will be the first to arrive in the Indian market with an launch date of October 3. This is going to be an luxurious model with seven seater option. It will be available in two varinats- Limousine and Limousine Plus.
The Kia Carnival new model will be equipped with a 193hp, 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. It will be paired with an 8-speed torque converte.
