Weather presenter Carol Kirkwood has dished out some intriguing snippets about her latest literary work while chatting on The One Show. The beloved BBC weather icon discussed the launch of her captivating novel, Once Upon A Time In Venice. Carol was careful not to spill too many details during her appearance but teased that the enchanting city of Venice, with its famed romantic allure and hidden corners, plays a central role in her tale.

With a twinkle in her eye, she gave viewers a sneak peek into the possible twists and thrills the book may hold. Chatting with presenters Alex Scott and Anita Rani, Carol effused: "Oh my goodness Anita, I love Venice first of all." She continued, with evident passion: "It has everything, it's romantic, Casanova lives there, it's got history, it's got art, it's got culture, it's got little alleyways as well when you walk down you can get lost in.

" The TV favourite hinted at the mysteries wrapped in the dark Venetian nights without streetlights - perfect for concealing secrets. She revealed: "There's no street lighting, so it's great for hiding secrets that kind of thing," illustrating her point with a knowing look towards her co-hosts, reports the Express . Carol also gave away a tidbit about the inspiration behind her fictional creation, adding: "There's also the Cipriani hotel in Venice and I've based the hotel in my book The White Palace Hotel, five-star luxury on that a little bit.

" For those eager fans wishing to dive into Kirkwood's third fictitious offering, the novel is now hitting the shelves and is up for grabs on Amazon. Meanwhile, the conversation quickly turned to Carol's romantic life, with Alex probing: "Your real life Carol has been quite romantic since we last met. You got married in December, you say the weather wasn't on your side, which is terrible when you're booking a wedding but you looked super happy and super beautiful.

So how is it?" Carol beamed as she replied: "It's going fabulously and I couldn't be happier," sharing that her wedding day was: "The perfect day, it was a small intimate wedding, it was beautiful and very romantic." She also shared a humorous anecdote about the weather on her big day, saying: "There was a storm, can you believe it? Storm Gerrit. We booked it, obviously, it was a bit in advance and we didn't know there was going to be a storm.

" Despite the meteorological mishap, Carol admitted, "I was watching it in the lead-up to the wedding and I was thinking 'no' but on the actual day we didn't even notice." The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One and can be streamed via iPlayer..
