A stolen car found at a country park in Swindon has been recovered by Swindon's newest police team. The black car was first reported to Wiltshire Police as missing just before Christmas 2024, and although enquiries were made, the owners were not sure they'd ever get it back. But officers from Swindon's Local Policing Tasking Team (LPTT), set up just six months ago, were able to find the car on Tuesday, January 7, parked at Mouldon Hill Country Park.

Formally set up in July 2024, the LPTT was intended to support local police teams in specific areas to target the "top-priority offenders, high-harm offences and high-risk suspects." Specialist officers say they had been driving past Mouldon Hill Park when they saw the black vehicle displaying false number plates. A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "Specials from Swindon LPTT spotted this car displaying false plates. "It was stolen just before Christmas and successfully recovered from Mouldon Hill last night." Detective Constable Will Saunders, of the Swindon LPTT, previously added: “The Swindon and County LPTTs rely on information from the public so we know where to target our patrols, areas to target, what is causing our communities the most concern at the moment, and so on.

“If there is anything that is concerning you, pleas.
