Oncologist Dr Nicholas DeVito from Duke University, North Carolina, alongside his colleagues, has observed a worrying trend with younger individuals flocking to their clinic.
According to Dr DeVito, their youthful patients have all had one thing in common -they consume junk food. The United States sees an alarming statistic where roughly 75% of its population's diet is classified as ultra-processed, packed with additives and ingredients that could pose health risks. Research has repeatedly drawn connections between diets rich in ultra-processed foods (UPFs) and an increased risk for more than 30 health conditions, including multiple cancer forms.
