Monday, January 20, 2025 Building on the remarkable success of 2024, which saw foreign tourist arrivals surpass projections, the Ministry of Tourism has announced a bold goal to welcome over 7 million international visitors in 2025. Cambodia reported a remarkable milestone, welcoming 6.7 million international tourists in 2024, marking a 22.

9% increase from 2023 and a 1.4% growth compared to 2019, the pre-pandemic benchmark. The Ministry of Tourism has outlined its priorities, focusing on developing a comprehensive action plan, ensuring its effective and responsible implementation, and consistently monitoring and analyzing tourist arrivals to further boost foreign visitor numbers.



To tap into emerging trends, the ministry’s working groups are designing strategies to enhance Cambodia’s appeal in the Muslim tourism market, recognizing its rapid growth and potential. Efforts are also underway to eliminate the concept of a traditional “low season,” aiming to sustain high tourist numbers throughout the year. Cambodia currently experiences a tourism cycle with a low season from April to September and a high season from October to March.

To streamline travel, the Royal Government has directed ministries and agencies to simplify visa processes by integrating the e-Visa and e-Arrival systems into a unified platform, providing greater convenience for travelers visiting the country.
