Call the Midwife has returned to our screens for season 13 , and show creator Heidi Thomas has once again promised an abundance of entertaining, important and moving storylines to keep viewers engrossed across the eight shiny new episodes. You can expect "complex medical and personal situations on the midwifery and district nursing rounds", with "more babies being born in hospital than ever before" and "pressure on maternity beds remaining extremely high across the country". Sounds familiar.
