A man has been accused of a gruesome murder after a couple were slaughtered and their bodies burnt in a vehicle abandoned in the desert. Huangting Gong, a 30 year old from Glendale in the Los Angeles area , faces charges of murder, kidnapping, arson, and burglary after allegedly killing a couple, burning their bodies and vehicles, and then looting their home. Gong reportedly owed Jing Li and Kuanlun Wang, both aged 37, a debt of $80,000.

The brutal crime occurred on October 12 in the Southern California desert, where Gong is accused of stealing nearly $250,000 worth of luxury items from the couple's residence. Arrested on November 5 at Los Angeles International Airport upon his return from Seattle, Gong is now held without bail at the Orange County Jail, as per police and prosecutor statements to NBC.
