Chick-fil-A has finally opened its first standalone location in Calgary, drawing massive hype from fast-food fans. The location opened its doors at 10 am on Thursday, November 7, and keen Calgarians told Dished they had to be among the first in line for the US chain’s first YYC outpost. However, the demand didn’t seem to wear off as the day went on, as Calgarians on TikTok shared clips of enormous lines and tons of traffic heading towards the restaurant at 9223 Macleod Trail SW.
One user, , shared his trip to Chick-fil-A and documented the opening day chaos. “Cops are here,” he said, showing a clip of blue flashing lights near the restaurant. The video also showed hundreds of people in line, where patient guests were also given chocolate chip cookies while they waited.
“Three hours later, we made it in,” he said in the video. Despite a long wait, the TikToker wasn’t disappointed with his meal, giving it a 10 out of 10. Plenty of fellow Calgarians also took to TikTok to show some of the opening day scenes at Chick-fil-A, including huge lines for the restaurant and drive-thru.
In a TikTok posted by on the evening of opening day, lines of cars were filmed along Macleod Trail from the Save On Foods at Heritage.
