Tuesday, January 21, 2025 Cairns drives Queensland’s 20-year tourism vision, uniting communities and leaders to craft a bold, sustainable, and innovative future through 2045. Queenslanders are actively contributing to the creation of a groundbreaking 20-year tourism strategy designed to redefine the future of the industry. Over 150 stakeholders recently gathered in Cairns for a collaborative consultation session, sharing insights and ideas to shape a powerful vision for Queensland’s tourism economy.

This session is part of a broader initiative that includes an online survey, regional roadshows, and industry consultations, all aimed at building a united path forward for the state’s visitor economy. The Crisafulli Government emphasized the importance of inclusive participation, welcoming community and industry leaders to help map out the future of tourism in Queensland through 2045. Destination 2045: Queensland’s Tourism Future is a transformative strategy set to elevate Queensland’s global presence, harness its unique lifestyle and cultural offerings, and capitalize on the momentum of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
