Burlington Trailways, which serves Grand Island, is investing more than $4 million in a new fleet of motorcoaches serving the Midwest. “The expansion is part of Burlington Trailways’ continued effort to improve the passenger experience and meet the growing demand for safe, reliable and comfortable transportation across North America,” the company said in a press release. Burlington Trailways, based in Burlington, Iowa, operates regularly scheduled motorcoach service in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska, as well as tour and charter services across North America.

Burlington Trailways acquired each vehicle at a cost of just under $1 million. The new vehicles feature complimentary Wi-Fi, comfortable reclining seats and an on-board restroom for passenger convenience.



The acquisition includes one MCI D4520 motorcoach, funded in partnership with the Iowa Department of Transportation, and three luxury Prevost H3 vehicles. “The MCI D4520 will serve intercity bus schedule routes, especially in critical rural areas, replacing an older vehicle that had logged nearly 2 million miles,” the company says. Meanwhile, three Prevost H3 motorcoaches will expand Burlington Trailways’ charter and group tour services, allowing the company to continue .
