Amy Allen is no stranger to Sandy Creek. or signup to continue reading The Bulldogs' goaler helped Thurgoona to a B-grade premiership last season and has appeared in finals more times than not during her eight years at the club. But for the first time, the 24-year-old has found herself in an A-grade finals series.

"We love finals, it's so exciting," she said. "It's my favourite time of the year, that's for sure." Allen has risen to the challenge in the Bulldogs' top grade in her debut season, swapping between goal shooter and goal attack with fellow goalers Mardi Haydon and Jess Wheatley.



"Shooting with Jess and Mards has been beautiful, I've learnt so much from both of them," she said. "We have some amazing players who have had such good experiences. "They've been awesome to learn from this year.

"Everyone in our team has been such good role models for me and they've really taken me under their wings which has been amazing, I've loved it." Allen's also been relishing testing herself against "It's definitely been a jump, but it's been a great challenge and I've really enjoyed learning against some new opponents," she said. "There's some challenging teams, so it's been awesome to learn against some of the best defenders in the league.

" The Bulldogs have already overcome their first test, defeating Chiltern in the qualifying final. They now face a new challenge against reigning and minor premiers Kiewa-Sandy Creek this weekend. Allen admits there's a mix of emotions stepping out on the Sandy Creek court.

"Definitely nerves, but a lot of excitement as well," she said. "I'd say it's half-half." , Tallangatta will now face Chiltern in another must-win match on Sunday.
