It’s that time again when my brain starts to ponder the endless question: What would be my idea of a perfect camera? I’ve asked this question before, multiple times. Every time, the obvious realization lands that there is no such thing as a perfect camera. Or, more accurately, there are a million and one different ideas of a perfect camera for a million and one different photographers.
Even my own concept of a perfect camera has changed over the years as my interests and needs as an artist have evolved. So, if I can’t even decide on the idea of a perfect camera for myself, the odds of nailing down the camera that is universally perfect for everyone is going to be a tall order. Just the same, it is a fun thought experiment.
And, for once, the timing is right to let my mind wander. Usually, letting my mind wander too much on camera options is a bad thing. It generally ends up in me spending money I don’t have on something I didn’t really need.
But, at the moment, I find myself in a unique position. For one, overflowing pockets isn’t a problem I have right now. So, sheer practicality is protecting me from my own stupidity.
