Canal Bank is scheduled to open its first Buffalo-area branch at noon Friday at 5529 Main St. in Williamsville. Canal Bank is the newly formed Western New York division of Elmira-based Chemung Canal Trust.

The City of Buffalo plans to abandon and sell portions of Stannard Alley between Hayward and Alabama streets and between Alabama and Hamburg streets, as well as Coatsworth Alley between Hayward and Alabama, to the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority as part of the Commodore Perry Homes redevelopment project. The streets total 0.545 acres.

The price is set at $59,500. The proposed sale will be reviewed by the Planning Board on Monday. Th.
