TENNERTON, W.Va. (WV News) — A combination of Jevon Westfall’s playmaking, a series of creative finishes from Jerin Westfall and an efficient perimeter display from Brody McDaniels allowed Buckhannon-Upshur to down the visiting North Marion Huskies in convincing fashion on Thursday night, 65-43.

Each scoring in double-digits, the Buckhannon-Upshur trio combined for 50 points to pace the Buccaneers to its third straight win. “Three up, three down. It’s been a great start to the season, and tonight was an extension of that,” Buckhannon-Upshur coach Jason Westfall said.

“Anytime that you can stack wins, you take them especially early in the season.” “This group is really microwaving right now and gelling very fast. I told them before the season with a little luck and effort that they have the potential to go far.

Now they’re starting to see that vision and it’s been great to see,” coach Westfall said. McDaniels went 8-of-14 from the field, sinking 6-of-9 attempts from 3-point range to pour in a game-high 24 points along with five rebounds, two steals and two assists. Jerin Westfall’s skills as a slasher allowed him to dominate inside the lane, resulting in a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double while adding three assists and a steal.

Jevon Westfall netted 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting while dishing out a team-high four assists and nabbing a steal. “I felt that Jevon, Brody, and Jerin each gave us what we expect out of them. They really lead the way for us .
