After facing intense media scrutiny for his August DUI incident, BTS star Suga has been sentenced to a fine of 15 million won related to his electric scooter ride. The news, confirmed on Monday, allows the rapper to move forward without additional legal complications. Suga was indicted and fined earlier this month by the Seoul Western District Prosecutor’s Office.
The Seoul Court issued a summary order, reportedly fining him KRW 15 million (approx Rs 10 lakh) for riding an electric scooter under the influence on August 6, 2024. His blood alcohol level at the time of the incident was recorded at 0.227%, as per KoreaTimes.
This fine amount aligns with the prosecution’s earlier recommendation from September 11. For now, Min Yoongi, better known as Suga or the Daechwita rapper, has concluded his appearances at the police station and issued an apology following the charges.
