BTS member Suga aka Min Yoongi has issued an apology after being fined for driving an electric scooter under the influence. The K-pop idol admitted to violating the traffic guidelines in a lengthy statement shared on Weverse. The Haegeum rapper said he was “heavy-hearted” and “apologetic” to bring fans the disappointing news.
The 31-year-old confirmed he drove home to Seoul assuming it was a close distance and forgetting that riding an electric scooter while intoxicated was illegal. “I fell while parking the electric scooter in front of my house, and there was a police officer nearby. I was given a breathalyzer test and subsequently had my license revoked and was fined,” Suga revealed.

I apologise to those who have been hurt by my carelessness and wrongful behaviour, and I will ensure that this does not happen again in the future,” Suga wrote.
Additionally, the K-pop idol’s management agency Bighit also apologised for the scooter incident while claiming he would be subjected to necessary disciplinary action. “As a social service agent during his military service, he is prepared to accept any disciplinary actions from his place of work for causing a social disturbance. We will take greater care to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in the future," said the agency.
