Following successful runs of world-class productions like The Sound of Music , MAMMA MIA! , and Life of Pi , the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) is now bringing Broadway’s longest-running show, The Phantom of the Opera , to India. The production, hailed as one of the most beloved love stories in theatre, will open at The Grand Theatre on March 5, 2025. Founder and Chairperson Nita Ambani stated, "As we approach our second-year anniversary next year, I am thrilled to announce the arrival of the most loved theatrical marvel that has captivated generations, ‘The Phantom of the Opera.

’ This timeless tale unveils the beauty in vulnerability and the power of love that transcends barriers." The Phantom of the Opera , based on Gaston Leroux’s 1910 novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra , tells the story of a mysterious masked figure who resides in the catacombs beneath the Paris Opera House and falls in love with a young soprano, Christine Daaé. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score, which includes classics like “The Music of the Night,” “All I Ask of You,” and the title track, has mesmerised over 160 million people worldwide.



Having premiered in London’s West End in 1986 and debuted on New York City's Broadway in 1988, The Phantom of the Opera has won over 70 major theatre awards and holds the record as the longest-running show in Broadway history.
