According to a recent study, the average adult will splurge over £62,000 on dining out throughout their lifetime, with steak and traditional roasts being the most popular choices. A survey of 2,000 adults revealed that despite efforts to cut back on expenses, people still spend an average of £84 per month on eating out. However, 46% of respondents aim to reduce their spending on dining out, with 64% currently needing to be frugal.
Three quarters believe that sharing a meal with friends or family is a worthwhile expense. With over half viewing it as an ideal opportunity for bonding, and a chance to enjoy trying foods they can't easily prepare at home. An impressive 44% confessed they would dine out with their family daily if given the opportunity. Considering it their preferred method of spending quality time with loved ones, surpassing catching up at home (36%) or going for a walk (34%).
