More info The fashion world was in mourning today following the sudden death of supermodel Georgina Cooper , known for her part in the Cool Britannia movement of the Nineties.
She is thought to have died unexpectedly aged just 46 while on a Greek holiday. She celebrated getting married this summer and was holidaying at a hotel apartment on the island of Kos with her husband when Georgina's health took a devastating turn last month. Despite being rushed to the local hospital, she is reported to have required urgent air ambulance transfer to a more advanced facility in Crete.
Sadly, after a five-day fight by medical professionals, the style icon succumbed to her illness. Returning to the UK this week, Georgina's loved ones are reeling from shock. Dean Goodman, her former agent, told the Mail : "She loved Greece and told me that she was going back with her new husband - but she has tragically died there a fortnight ago.
"Georgina had been unwell during Covid and had developed some health problems and had been in and out of hospital. But she had plans for the future. She had just married and was looking forward to her life.
Everybody is devastated. She was a genuine superstar," reports the Mirror . Georgina, who was discovered by a modelling agency at just 13, graced a Bon Jovi music video by the age of 15.
She walked the runway for UK designer Juli.
