Friday, November 8, 2024 British Airways has announced adjustments to its seasonal London Gatwick–Vancouver service for the Northern summer 2025 season, with updated dates and schedule changes to enhance operational efficiency. The oneWorld alliance member initially planned to run the route from April 29 to September 30, 2025, but has now revised the schedule, shortening the service period to span from June 4, 2025, through September 15, 2025. This update aligns with anticipated travel demands for the summer period while optimizing aircraft usage for this key transatlantic route.

The route between London Gatwick (LGW) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR) will continue to operate using Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, a wide-body model known for its range and passenger capacity, ideal for long-haul flights such as this one. The British Airways service code for this route includes adjustments to frequency, reflecting strategic scheduling to meet demand patterns. Under the revised schedule, flight BA2279 will depart from London Gatwick at 11:40 AM and arrive in Vancouver at 1:25 PM local time on Tuesdays.

On other selected days, the arrival time is set at 1:30 PM. This flight timing allows passengers to reach Vancouver early in the afternoon, offering ample time for further travel connections or to settle in at their destination. The return flight, BA2278, will depart Vancouver at 3:15 PM on Tuesdays and at 3:20 PM on other select days, arriving back at London Gatwick at 8:40 A.
