As major global carriers increasingly strengthen their partnerships with other airlines, British Airways, too, has decided to extend its codeshare deals with Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo and LATAM in Brazil. The new routes added will become available in the coming weeks. Partnership with IndiGo Last Year, British Airways and Indian low-cost giant IndiGo announced a new codeshare partnership , starting with eight routes and including cities like Thiruvananthapuram, Rajkot, and Vadodara.
Now, they have strengthened that deal even further by announcing an extension to include more routes. From September 30, passengers can travel to 18 destinations across India with British Airways' code, including Goa and Ahmedabad. British Airways operates non-stop flights to five Indian destinations: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
The new codeshare tickets are now available for booking. IndiGo is the largest airline in India, penetrating every corner of the country with a network that far surpasses any of its competitors. With the codeshare extension, British Airways passengers traveling from London Heathrow via its five Indian gateways will now have 39 codeshare routes available.
IndiGo uses 6E independently under this flight code. With the British Airways code on some of its flights, all BA rules and rescheduling policies apply, and all fare types can be booked. The deal also includes a complimentary light meal of snacks and a sandwich for all British Airways connecting .
