After Penelope Featherington aka Lady Bridgerton found her match in Colin Bridgerton, it is time for the fourth sibling Benedict played by Luke Thompson to explore the waters and find a suitable match. The makers of the period drama Shondaland recently released an interview featuring the leads of the fourth season, Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha, where they discussed the storyline and their character arcs. Luke described the upcoming season as a blend of fairy tale elements with real-life challenges, while Yerin Ha referred to it as an “emotional tug-of-war" between their hearts and societal expectations.
Reports indicate that the fourth season of Bridgerton is set to premiere in 2026. Shondaland recently announced that Ha will take on the role of Sophie Baek, an ambitious maid and low-born maid who sneek into a ball looking for something. Benedict, still struggling to identify his purpose will stumble upon her, falling madly in love.
The two leads also shared insights into their characters. Ha described Sophie’s journey as “prismatic" as she would from the other side of the societal prism like a rainbow, with colours of love and happiness. Thompson revealed that Benedict who has always felt baffled by societal expectations will overcome his restlessness and dig deeper into his commitment issues.
Talking about his character Benedict, Luke Thompson said, “He’s a man of many interests, but sometimes it makes him feel lost. There’s clearly something in him that he’s no.
