Its founder Joseph Holt was from Unsworth and his son Sir Edward Holt moved into The Woodthorpe on Bury Old Road in Prestwich in 1884 with his young family before it was turned into a pub. The brewery, which owns pubs across the region, has now launched a clothing line which champions its renowned northern heritage. And the casual, comfortable range, which includes t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies, is already proving to be a big hit.
Not least since many of the items display Holt’s "Unmistakably Northern" slogan. The clothing range also includes t-shirts emblazoned with designs of historic beer mats as well as polo shirts celebrating the brewery`s 175th landmark anniversary. And given that the brewery is based in Manchester there is also a sweatshirt featuring an embroidered Holt`s “Bee Glass”.
This limited-edition striped glass, available on the Holt`s website, transforms into the "bee like" Manchester symbol when filled with golden ale. The Unmistakably Northern slogan is splashed across the back of the sweatshirt alongside the Joseph Holt name and logo. The family crest can be found on the inside of the neck.
