Sunday, January 5, 2025 Breeze Airways, the Utah -based low-cost airline, announced Friday that it will cease operations from Mobile International Airport by the end of January. The suspension, effective January 31, leaves the downtown Mobile Airport without commercial airline service. Breeze, which began offering flights from Mobile to Orlando and Providence, R.
I., in April 2024, was the sole carrier operating from the downtown location. The airline cited “a lot of promise in Mobile and the surrounding area” in its statement but provided no timeline for resuming service.
“We are working with our Guests who have been impacted by this change to issue full refunds or serve them from one of our nearby airports in the meantime,” the company said. Breeze’s Presence in Alabama After January, Breeze Airways will continue operating in Alabama from Huntsville International Airport. Andy Wilson, executive director of the Mobile Airport Authority, described Breeze’s exit as a “mutual parting” after discussions that began two months ago. The move comes as the Mobile Airport Authority prepares for the completion of a new $38.
