Angered locals accused the motorhome drivers of dodging a local campsite, claiming there was one just eight miles away. They also go on to slam the visitors over the leak coming from the back of their vehicle, leaving water trailing along the road. But most of the fury came from the fact they had parked up for the night looking straight into people's windows.

" Our reporter tackles the NC500 THE North Coast 500, dubbed Scotland's Route 66, is under the spotlight as locals express frustration over the influx of tourists along the rural route. Thousands of people flock to the 516-mile tourist route to take in the beauty of the Scottish Highlands .

It has even been compared to America's famous Route 66. But the sheer scale of visitors heading north has caused no shortage of issues for locals. And motorhomes are one of the biggest issues plaguing local people.

The large homes on wheels take over the area during tourist season. Campervan drivers have been accused of clogging up single-track roads and not knowing how to drive on the winding rural routes. Others say an issue is some people not knowing how to drive the massive vehicles as they take to the road.

Motorhome drivers have also been accused of clogging up local car parks and ignoring local rules by staying overnight instead of paying for campsites. Others have been spotted setting up camp at the side of the road. They have even been accused of leaving behind shocking piles of litter and mess when they leave .
