A Brampton man who has been playing the lottery for 30 years got his first big win. Glenn Bricker won $50,000 with the Triple Millions lottery in the Aug. 29 main draw.
“I was at the store, but the line at register was pretty long, so I decided to use the ticket checker,” he said in a news release from Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. “When I saw the ‘Big Winner’ message, it was a great surprise. I then had the ticket validated.
It was interesting and fun to watch the lottery terminal freeze.” The father of two then had a hard time convincing his wife of the win. “I called my wife to share the good news and her immediate reaction was, ‘Stop lying!’ I took pictures of the lottery terminal printouts and sent them to her.
I also let her know I was going to be late for dinner,” he said. “Winning is a great feeling! My wife and I look forward to a luxurious vacation without the worry of how we will pay for it.” The winning ticket was purchased at a Circle K location on Heart Lake Road in Brampton.
Triple Millions is a limited-time OLG game that was available until Aug. 29. It had three guaranteed prizes of $1 million plus various other smaller ones.
