It was excitement galore, last week, as the management of Brainworld School, Lagos Island, set aside a day to celebrate the 2024 Valedictory, Prize-giving and Graduation Day, where the school bade farewell to the outgoing students and pupils of the 2023/2024 school year. The ceremony held in a grand style, was attended by parents and other distinguished guests, who came to felicitate and celebrate the children for successful completion of the primary and secondary school education, as well as sterling and record-breaking achievements of the school in the outgone school year. The School Hall, venue of the ceremony was full of ecstasy as the students who dressed in their best attires radiated joy and exchanged pleasantries with one another as well as their teachers.
The ceremony was heralded by a procession by the nursery school pupils, who are transiting to the primary, and followed by the outgoing primary school and the secondary school graduating learners, who filed out in their procession in excitement to the admiration of their teachers, parents and guests. After the process, it was time for the students and the entire gathering to take the new National Anthem, which the students also sang melodiously to the admiration of the parents. Meanwhile, the parents applauded the school for the colourful and beautiful event, especially for the well-organised activities and ambience of the hall which was attractive with the various decorations, which according to the guests, was a sight to behold.
One of the high points of the ceremony was the presentation of testimonials and certificates to the students for their brilliant performance, as well as prizes and gifts to some of the graduating students and teachers for distinguishing themselves in academics, school activities, character, and other areas during the outgone school year. The Proprietor of the school, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu AbdulWasiu, who thanked the Almighty God for His benevolence on the children, teachers and school, and for successful completion of the school year, expressed gratitude to the parents for their support during the academic session. He lauded the parents and praised them for their effort towards the steady growth and development of the school since its inception, a development which he said accounted for its drive for academic excellence and moral training.
Prof Owolabi’s Education Corner on New Telegraph, which was at the ceremony congratulated the management of Brainworld School on the landmark achievements of the school, as well as on the huge success of the ceremony. The founder of the Education Corner, Prof Owolabi YH, stated that teachers’ loyalty, diligence and quality performance are the tripod that has sustained the record of success of the school. “All of us at Prof Owolabi’s Education Corner on New Telegraph heartily congratulate Brainworld School on the success of this occasion, wish them a fruitful summer and recordbreaking 2024/25 academic session,” he said.
However, the parents gave kudos to the team of management of the school, led by the Principal, Mr AbdulFatai Ahmed, as well as Mr AbdulQodir Alaro, Mrs Adebayo Khadijah, Mrs Aremu Rodiat, and others for their commitment and dedication to the development of the school. Also, they lauded the Head of Primary School, Mrs AbdulKarim and Mr Olanrewaju, whom they described as “strong pillar” in the success recorded by the school. To make the events more exciting, some of the activities and programmes were said to have been sponsored by some of the parents, who confirmed to Prof Owolabi Education Corner that the ceremony was exciting and rewarding.
Also to add colour to the event parents distributed gifts and souvenirs to the dignitaries and other guests at the event; while the students and pupils staged various presentations, such as cultural dance, traditional shows, drama, choreography, among others to entertain their parents and guests..
