An unusual case has been reported from emerged from Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh, where a 40-year-old man suffered a brain hemorrhage, believed to be triggered by the very high volume of a nearby DJ’s music. This unusual incident left doctors bewildered, especially since the man had no prior medical conditions such as high blood pressure , physical injuries, or a history of illness. This incident was reported by TOI.
Upon further questioning, the patient hesitantly admitted that he had been loading equipment into a DJ vehicle when he first started experiencing dizziness, which ultimately led to his health deteriorating. Two days before his hospital visit, the resident of Sanawal area felt sudden dizziness while working near the loud music . He returned home, only to later experience severe headaches and vomiting while preparing dinner.
Concerned about his symptoms, he sought medical attention the following morning. Dr. Shailendra Gupta, an Associate Professor of the ENT Department at Government Medical College in Ambikapur, examined Jaiswal and recommended a CT scan.
The scan revealed a blood clot in the occipital region of the brain, caused by a ruptured blood vessel. Typically, such hemorrhages are associated with high blood pressure or trauma, but Jaiswal showed no signs of either. His blood pressure was normal, and he had no history of injury.
Initially reluctant to provide details, Jaiswal eventually revealed that he had been assisting in loading equipment near the DJ’s loud music when he started feeling dizzy. This admission raised concerns among medical professionals, particularly about the potential effects of excessive noise on brain health. While Dr.
Gupta noted the possibility that the loud DJ music might have contributed to the hemorrhage, he referred Jaiswal to a higher facility for further treatment due to the seriousness of his condition. Dr. Gupta highlighted the potential dangers of prolonged exposure to loud noise, referencing a 2022 study on traffic personnel regularly exposed to high noise levels.
The study found that many participants suffered from hearing loss, high blood pressure, and irritability.
