Amid growing allegations that several BPL cardholders have been removed from the list, Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC president DK Shivakumar assured the government would not abandon genuine beneficiaries under any circumstances. BJP leaders have accused the Congress government of removing many names from the BPL list in recent days, alleging that this move has unfairly impacted the poor. “Under no circumstances will injustice be done to those eligible for BPL benefits.
We have instructed the minister concerned to provide a list of eligible beneficiaries whose cards have been canceled. Additionally, we have directed that those who were deprived be allowed to reapply. State, taluk, and district-level guarantee implementation committees will review this matter.
I assure, as a representative of the government and the party president, that not a single poor person will be troubled. There is no need for anyone to be afraid,” Shivakumar told reporters after offering prayers at the Sri Kollur Mookambika temple on Thursday. He dismissed the Opposition’s claims, saying that the Opposition was unnecessarily making noise.
Shivakumar also expressed confidence that the Congress would win all three assembly seats- Sandur, Shiggaon, and Channapatna in the recently held by-elections. The polls were held on November 13, and the results will be announced on November 23. “The party has put in its best efforts for the by-elections in Karnataka.
The fruits of our labor are in God’s hand.
