Melissa Bamber's daughter, Danielle, 24, and her partner Josh Pearson, 28, both perished in a blaze which ripped through their home in Blackpool, Lancashire. Their children, two boys - Oscar, six, and Lorenzo, 18 months - were taken to hospital after a heroic neighbor smashed windows at the terraced house to pull them to safety.

However their grieving grandmother has revealed whilst Oscar has been released from hospital, baby Lorenzo is still fighting for his life after the house fire which began at around 2.30am on July 17. Discussing the eldest child's condition, she said: 'He's fine, there's hardly a mark on him but it's been really tough for him.

This comes shortly after family and friends paid touching tributes to the couple, including Melissa who described her daughter as her as 'best friend' and 'a great mum'. 'I saw her and Josh, and the little ones, every day and we were so close, we were best friends,' the heartbroken mother said.

'I was only a teenager when she was born and so I was a young mum when she was growing up. 'Danielle and Josh had been together since they were young themselves and he was like a member of the family. 'She was a lovely girl, our Danielle, her children meant everything to her and she was a great mum to those kids.

' A woman named Codie Lee, who referred to Ms Bamber as her 'best mate' at school has launched a GoFundMe, which has raised £6,600, in memory of the couple. 'Both boys [are] left in hospital, one in a coma very unwell and one unwell. 'Their little boys have also been left with nothing due to losing everything in the house fire, no clothes, toys or anything, any little fund make a difference.

'Thanks for any help or donations.' Danielle's close friend, Codie Lee described the couple as 'bubbly' and 'caring', adding that their families were 'absolutely heartbroken' at their loss. She said: 'I knew Danielle from high school year 7, from wagging school together, causing mayhem together, to growing up and her becoming a parent.

'Danielle and Josh were a couple. Both passed away in the house fire, leaving their 18 month [old] in a coma and their 6-year-old stable but in hospital. 'They were both loud, bubbly people.

Outgoing, always down for a laugh and just caring people at heart, always making memories with the kids.' Their family and friends have released touching tributes to the couple, with Ms Bamber's close friend Codie Lee organising a GoFundMe in their memory, which has raised £6,600 so far Flowers laid near the house in Blackpool after the fire on Wednesday Kara-Marie Pearson previously revealed how her partner, Jake Hartill, who did not want to speak to reporters, saved a child from the blaze. Mr Hartill bravely smashed a glass panel in the front door of the home engulfed in flames in a bid to rescue the young boy.

'If he hadn't got that little boy out, he'd be dead,' Ms Pearson said. 'I heard this almighty bang and I looked out my bedroom window and the whole downstairs was literally in flames. 'You couldn't even see it, it was pure orange.

It was like an explosion. 'All I could hear was the dad screaming out, 'Help! Help! Help!' She told how her partner used a bat to smash the glass panel in the front door to lift the boy to safety. Once we moved the little boy to safety, the whole windows just smashed, just blew. 'We all had to stand back because the flames came right out. It was like a wildfire, you can't explain how them flames were.

'And obviously Dad had stopped shouting at this point, so...

'Smoke must have got to him. She continued: 'It was traumatising. I've never seen anything like that in my life.

It wasn't just like a normal house fire, that was like a wildfire. 'It doesn't bear thinking about, those poor kids have got no mum and dad.' The fire service were called to the property on Peter Street in Blackpool at around 2.

35am on July 17. Ms Bamber died at the scene and her partner was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. She added: 'When I heard what had happened and that Danielle was gone, I couldn’t stop screaming.

DCI John McNamara said: 'First and foremost my thoughts remain with Danielle and Joshua's loved ones at this distressing time, particularly their two children. 'This has been a harrowing investigation which I know has had a profound impact for everyone involved.

'Nonetheless, they have worked diligently and professionally to understand how this devastating blaze occurred. 'We are now satisfied that this is not a criminal investigation and are in the process of preparing a file for HM Coroner.'
