0, an event that has grown to become the biggest glamping event in Borneo, will be held on Dec 13 to 15 at the Borneo Highland Resort, Jalan Puncak Borneo near here. Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah told a press conference today that this year’s festival will host participants from five countries namely Indonesia, Singapore, China, Brunei, and Thailand, further cementing Sarawak’s reputation as a premier destination for international visitors, he said. “I am proud to share that the second edition of this festival will feature a remarkable 250 tents, nearly doubling in size.
“This growth signifies the increasing interest and enthusiasm from participants, not just locally but from around the region,” he said. Abdul Karim said the Borneo Highland Glamping Festival has become a flagship eco-tourism attraction, combining nature, culture, adventure, and innovation. “It reflects our shared vision to develop new and sustainable tourism products that position Sarawak as a leading eco-tourism destination,” he added.
This festival was first introduced last year (2023), where 109 tents were installed amidst the beautiful surroundings of the Borneo Highlands. “It (the first edition) was a resounding success, thanks to the collab.
