Around 40 people attended the four-bedroom Lake Road classic home. Stean Nicholls auctioneer Geoff Steen said bidding bounced back and forth between three interested buyers before two of them fought it out with $5,000 increments. "Vendors and buyers are very happy," he said.
"It sold under the hammer above the reserve price." Mr Steen said the winning bid came from a family from Camden, NSW, who were seeking a lifestyle change. He said the property, built in the late '90s, boasted "fantastic views of the weir.
" "It's a great result all around," he said. In a second successful sale, a four-bedroom property in Pearce Street, Howlong, for an undisclosed amount, but was confirmed to be well above $1.2 million.
The property, Mr Steen said, was "beautiful." "This 2019-built residence offers direct access to the river from your own backyard, complete with a private jetty, ideal for boating, fishing, or simply enjoying the serenity of the waterfront." He said the property was both modern and elegant.
"It attracted a crowd of around 20 people, ," he said. "Both the vendors and buyers were ecstatic with the result." Several more houses were also auctioned at the weekend, though is still waiting for comment.
