It's inspiring to witness how Puerto Vallarta has developed in the realm of literature and bookstores over recent years.

What was once a challenge—finding books and bookstores in the city—has now transformed into a vibrant reality with the emergence of new spaces dedicated to literature. A decade ago, options were limited, but now, beyond bookstores, we see cultural spaces, cafes with bookshelves, and stores that blend art and literature, fostering a culturally enriching environment. However, this does not mean we can celebrate and forget that, even so, and with the city’s ongoing demographic growth, these bookstores and cultural spaces are still insufficient to meet Puerto Vallarta's sociocultural demands.



As a society, it is essential to promote and educate the more vulnerable members of our beautiful Puerto. The expansion of bookstores in Puerto Vallarta reflects not only the city's growth but also a greater demand from residents and tourists seeking to enjoy reading. Moreover, in a place that celebrates traditions such as dance, folklore, and gastronomy, the emergence of these literary spaces allows Vallartans to access a wider range of knowledge and culture, strengthening the region's cultur.
