The Lorain Historical Society is hosting a special book signing event for “Judi’s Folktales: Magical Stories and Fables” scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.

m. Aug. 3 at the Carnegie Center Museum gift shop, located at 329 W.



10th St. in Lorain, according to a news release. “Judi’s Folktales: Magical Stories and Fables” features a collection of 18 folktales and eight fables written by Judi Lifton, blending cultural heritage with imaginative storytelling, the release said.

Originally from Minnesota, Lifton now divides her time between Cleveland and North Kingsville, bringing a rich literary background to her tales, according to the release. Peg Asensio, a talented Lorain native, provides the artistic illustrations for “Judi’s Folktales” enhancing each story with 160 charming illustrations, the release said. Asensi is well-regarded locally for her artistic versatility and has contributed significantly to the community, including her exhibit “In the Hands of Women” at the Lorain Historical Society, according to the release.

This event offers attendees the opportunity to meet Lifton and Asensio, purchase signed copies of “Judi’s Folktales” and engage in discussions about folklore and art, the release said.
