Excelsior Correspondent SRINAGAR, Sept 23: The launch of “I Am Shiva” by Dr Raj Nehru, hosted by Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj and Jammu and Kashmir Reconciliation Organisation at the R&B Auditorium, saw active participation from students, teachers, and youth from across the region. The event featured several distinguished speakers, including Kiran Wattal, Sanjay Mawa, Pankaj Dhar, Dr Mushtaq Bhat, and Amit Raina, who shared their insights on the book’s themes. I Am Shiva delves into self-identity, consciousness, and the intersection of science and spirituality, deeply rooted in the ancient philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism.

The book guides readers through various stages of self-realization, from transactional to transcendental consciousness, encouraging individuals to recognize their true creative potential. In his keynote address, Dr Raj Nehru shared the inspiration behind the book, describing it as a journey of self-discovery rooted in Kashmir Shaivism’s philosophy of Pratibijya, which emphasizes self-recognition. He explained, “The book is a universal exploration of human potential, guiding readers through transactional, transformational, and transcendental consciousness.



” Kiran Wattal hailed I Am Shiva as “a timely and much-needed exploration of self-awareness,” stressing its potential to help youth discover deeper purpose. He also praised the initiatives taken by the administration under Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for the development of Jammu and Kashmir, including improvements to religious sites. Sanjeev Mawa highlighted the book’s relevance in today’s world, stating, “In a world filled with distractions and noise, I Am Shiva offers a clear path to self-recognition and inner peace.

” Pankaj Dhar called the book “a beautiful blend of the wisdom of the past with the questions of the present, making it essential for anyone seeking meaning in life.” Dr Mushtaq Bhat praised Dr Nehru’s ability to simplify profound concepts, noting, “I Am Shiva opens a gateway for all readers, regardless of background, to explore the nature of reality.” Amit Raina added that such events help channel the energy of youth toward Kashmir’s development.

The event concluded with an interactive session, reflecting the deep resonance of the book’s message, especially among the younger audience..
