Paddy McGuinness was left 'blown away' by a random act of kindness. The Bolton comic told his 2.1 million Instagram followers that a stranger offered to buy his and his children's meal as a 'thank you' during a family day out to Jodrell Bank today.
Paddy, embarking on an epic challenge for Children in Need, said that real life was often an antidote to negativity that can often plague social media. Paddy said: "Just back from Jodrell Bank, did the radio show this morning and kids wanted to go. "Got home, quick bit of food and off we went.
"Had a lovely day and at the end they wanted to go to the cafe so got the sandwiches and cakes and pop and all that. "I just wanted to come on here to say to the gentleman who offered to pay for mine and my kids' food, I was blown away by your kindness. "I had a little bit of an argument with him because I was like 'no no please I will get it myself'.
"But he insisted, and he said I had brought him lots of happiness over the years to him and his wife and the family. "It just really touched me because in the world we live in at the minute. "It is always easier especially on social media to have a bit of negativity.
"And that was just out and about meeting a fellow human being and it was very very touching so whoever you are sir thank you very much and please give my best to your good lady. "I love it and that is why I am enjoying my warm up nights on tour . "Just getting in front of people and feeling that warmth and laughter and just folk get.
