Prayagraj: Panic gripped Usrahi and adjoining villages under limits of Soraon police station in trans-Ganga pocket of Prayagraj district on Friday morning following recovery of the body of a minor girl who was found murdered in rice field. Upon being alerted, senior police officials and forensic experts rushed to the spot and carried out investigations. DCP (Ganga Nagar) Kuldeep Singh Gunawat told reporters that the body of a 10-year-old girl was found inside a rice field at 10:30 am.
The minor girl, who left her house on Thursday evening to take medicines, did not return home. Her body was found inside the rice field, around 200 metres from the house, on Friday morning. There were injury marks found on her head and hands.
The DCP, however, said, "The autopsy report would reveal the exact cause behind the death of the girl. Cops are probing the case thoroughly."tnn.
