It was quiet a popular model in India as well. The new generation of the 2-Gran Coupe design patent has leaked and here is everything that you need to know. The overall design of the upcoming 2-Series Gran Coupe is very similar to the BMW 1-Series that was facelifted recently.

It has a new grille, new LED headlights, and it now gets flush fitting door handles like many of the new vehicles in BMW’s lineup. The rear also looks much more sleeker and in line with the larger BMW sedans and is less polarizing than the one available currently. It will incorporate two digital displays measuring at 10.3-inches for the digital drivers display and a 10.7-inches for the infotainment touch screen and have the latest iDrive 9 software.

In terms of engine, we expect the Indian version to get the base 1.5L three cylinder turbo petrol engine which produces 168 bhp and 280 Nm of torque and a 2.0L diesel engine in 118d guise which produces 148 bhp and 360 Nm of torque and we have already seen in the new X1.

Internationally there is a also a 2.0L turbo petrol in the 1-Series in the sporty M135 models which are very unlikely to make it to India. We expect the 2-Series to be revealed globally soon and finally land to our Indian shores sometime next year with the new X3.
